Essex Coverage and Permit Charges

If you don’t have a driveway, garden, or other private land to place a skip on to you will need to apply for a council permit to have the skip placed on the roadside.

The council charge for these permits which we apply for on your behalf. Only registered skip companies can request skip licences due to public liability insurance, waste carriers’ licence and regulation compliance. Prices do vary depending upon location but we will always offer all the available information upfront to help you make the correct decision.

We use https://one.network/ for pre-application advice, as permit fees are non-refundable.

We advise at least 10 business days to receive the permit so please allow as much notice as possible when placing an order.

Under the Highways Act 1980 it is an offence to place anything on the highway unless authorised by a licence in writing issued by the Highway Authority.
